We had a great couple shows there and we thank you all who came out, the turn out was humbling and we are grateful for the interest in our music! We are off to the states for a little tour and we’re back in the beginning of October when we will begin making our next record. We have some new friends that you will see with us in the coming months too, October 15th at the Main restaurant and November 19th at the Cafe Duex Soleils you’ll all be able to welcome them to the Shep’s so come on down and bring your friends for some tunes and sud’s. Matt will be blogging up a storm as he travels with Furthur then at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in San Francisco.

More shows, new record taking shape

Posted on August 17th, 2010 in The Blog

Hey there folks, we’re playing a couple of shows in the next 2 weeks, 1 at the Main Restaurant at 4210 main street here in vancouver on Friday the 20th and the next at Cafe Deux Soleils at 2096 Commercial Drive on Friday the 27th. The Main street show will feature multiple incarnations of the Shep’s from the original duo of Jay and Matt to larger versions with many of our old friends. The Commercial Drive gig will be the big band minus our beloved Debra Jean cause she’s off to do the Shore FM boot camp and we wish her the best of luck! Matt has been playing a lot of banjo recently so you hopefully be hearing it a bunch on the new record duo out sometime early next year. Jay and I are off for a wee little Pacific North West Furthur tour in september, we’re real excited.. “Inspiration, move me brightly…”

Bonfire Music Festy

Well, we played the 6th annual Bonfire Music Festival in Birken BC yesterday, with the most amazing mountains surrounding us and a modest but happy crowd watched as we did our thing. After the show we announced that we were giving away CD’s and a wonderful throng of people came to the stage as Debra Jean threw out copies to each and every person who wanted one.. more shows coming, stay tuned!

Folk Fest fun!

Posted on July 19th, 2010 in The Blog

Another great year at the folk fest here in Vancouver, we really saw so much great music over the weekend, Calexico, the Avett Brothers, Deep Dark Woods, Bob Brozman to name a few! We also gave away hundreds of our CD’s to whoever would take them and we thank you all and please feel free to make copies and give them to your friends! We want our music to go all over and we would love to know what you all think, let us know.. We apologize for the lack of contact info on the CD case, somehow that slipped our minds and this is why we scribbled all over the CD’s we gave out! Doh! On another note, Matt’s partner Lisa will be helping out with managerial duties for a while, we are so in need for someone to help us and she has graciously offered up her services. She knows and loves the music very much, we welcome Lisa to the team!

WOW! Further in Angels Camp, California

well, Jay and I spent the weekend in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range celebrating the music of the Grateful Dead. Phil and Bob’s new band is so wonderfully amazing that we were all whipped into a frenzy mixed with dance, joy, celebration and California dust.. we are now focusing on the day when we see them again.. August in Frisco?
